MB/GCE VECTREX VideoSystem Prototype
Houston, we have an unknown prototype...
This is a prototype of the Vectrex home video arcade system that MB and GCE worked on in the early '80s. I got a mail from Justin Forsell, USA mentioning a Vectrex prototype his father was working on. His father worked in Research & Design at Milton Bradley for over 20 years.
Here some quotes of the mails:
"This may be a (non-working) model my father actually worked on. All I know is these were taken by my father in Springfield, Massachusetts, which was their research & design location.
They would made models out of clay, much like automobile developers do, then make molds before casting in plastic and painting. But this looks very well made and may actually be a working model that they were copying before GCE came up with the final design. I will try to speak with him and see if he recalls. The screen looks more like 5 inches square, doesn't it? Probably long ago destroyed, unfortunately.
I have the actual photographic slides (my father took mostly slides) and these were printed out at a local pharmacy photo booth and then scanned. i will try to send something better, but what you were sent is what most of them look like, some are just closer shots."
